stand by greyed out

So I installed Windows Pro and now Stand By is greyed out. I googled the problem and a lot of the results suggested it may be fixed by updating drivers - which I did via the computers update driver's site - but still it remains greyed out. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
 
what no you dont have a stand by button when you click start shutdown a list comes up what you want to do like log off, restart, shut down etc etc
 
I know what your talking about now. Update your Chipset and Video Drivers, windows needs the right drivers for any kind of power savings mode.
 
ya exactly what stranglehold sayed. for some reason windows will not let you go into standby if it does not have video drivers. i still dont see why but that is windows for you
 
Finally figured out I had to go into the drivers folders and manually do the update. Stand by is now back. Thanks to all for your input.
 
and fyi this problem was fixed for me by downloading Intel Extreme Graphics 2 although it might not apply for everyone.
