Standby and Hibernation not working

Hey all,

I have googled my question multiple times and still have not found any answers.

Whenever I eneter either Stand-by or Hibernation mode my computer starts up immediately. For example I set Hibernation to my power or reset button, I hit that button it goes through all the steps to eneter hibernation mode then as soon as my screen goes turns off, the computer fans startup again and it goes through all the steps of exiting hibernation mode.

Or I set stand-by to my power button or reset button or go start -> turn off computer -> stand-by it will go through all the steps of enetering stand-by then when my monitors goes blank it will start up immediately.

Is there any way to fix this problem?

I am running:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+
1Gig RAM
Geforce 6600 256DDR PCI Express
Windows XP Pro with Service pack 2

Thanks

did you enable them in the power options?

did you enable the power saving feature or whatever it was in the bios?

Yes it works if I go through all the normal steps, still does the same thing.

I am not sure if I have it enabled in the BIOS, I am still using the BIOS default settings. I just took a look at my BIOS and not 100% sure on what exactly I am looking for.

Theres usually a power options tab(or power saving) or somthing like that somewhere in there, just make sure everythings set right there....
