Start all over

Currently I have installed both Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98 on my computer I would however like to just delete it all and then install Windows XP. Would that be a good idea? And how to do it properly?
 
Sure it'd be a good idea if you just want a clean OS, some free space on your HD, and like using XP. You can formatt your HD and then do a clean install of XP, or you could update windows 98 to XP, and then manually delete 2000. (or update 2000 and manually delete 98) if you didn't want ot formatt the drive and keep the rest of your files.
