Start Menu Item won't go away

HI there, I just installed an application and I pinned to my start menu in Windows 10. I deleted the file later and when I came delete the Start Menu item. I clicked on it and it said the file was no longer found, so I clicked yes to "Do you want to remove the shortcut?" But the icon didn't go away from the start menu and when I right click to hit "Unpin from Start," it just stays there. What should I do?

Why didn't you just uninstall the program using programs and features in control panel?
 
Hello everyone, I fixed the problem by naming a file with the same name and added it to the start menu it automatically deletd the old one and added the new one, I then removed the start menu icon BEFORE I deleted the file.
