Start up menu has gone and nothing works!

Hi, A few days ago my bro change my background and now nothing is there. I use rocketdock and that doesnt show up, if i push the start key on the keyboard nothing comes up, same with the calculater etc. Its like the background is covering the whole screen. Also some message started popping up a few days before this happend saying some script engine could not be found and my background went blue but i didnt think much of this.

My PC specs:
Microsoft XP SP2
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz
512Mb RAM
80Gb IDE HD

Hit ctrl+alt+del and then new task and type "system restore"

Now, is the keyboard wired or wireless???

What Brand and model is the keyboard???

It is a Microsoft wired keyboard. Model RT2300 and what does the keyboard have to do with this? Iv had no problems with this keyboard and it works in safe mode fine.
