Start up problems

Hi im a bit new to all this

When i turn on my pc it starts up the graphics card and motherboard screen comes on then it cycles between the two. Occasionally it will load windows but then freeze part way through. What could the cause be?

hi,
it semms like your windows OS has a bug, maybe caused by a virus.
try to start your PC from the windows cd and choose the repair option.
otherwise you have to recover your data (best done with a linux live system) and then to format the harddrive and to reinstall windows.
