when i start up my computer (from shut down or restart) it always takes me to the User Select screen, even though i only have on user, me. Is there a way to make it skip this and go straight to windows

I had this same problem
Do you have XP? Is so then go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
And download Tweak UI, there is one for 32bit and one for 64bit
than install it and after you do go start>run>and type in: "tweakui"
then go down to one of the last items on the left and expand logon and then there should be autologon
you can also have lots of other fun with tweakui

well my moms computer automatically does it already without this plugin
