when i startup my computer it asks if i wanna start windows xp profesional or unidentified opperating system on drive C:

there is no operating system on drive c, its a partition i made to store important files incase i reformat.

any ideas how to get this annoyance out of the way?
 
Start>run>msconfig>boot.ini tab>Check all boot paths it may remove it if not you have to manually remove it in the ini which we will cover if you need to...

did that and restarted and it still asks me which one i want to chose. so i guess i have to do that ini thing your talkin about
 
Ok what is the exact error you are getting? Does the boot ini list both in that tab? If it doesnt we cant remove it this way. If it shows both let me know. By the way where is your OS installed?
