static electricity is evil

welll.e.d's aren't shock proof... i learned that yesterday after slidding across my bed building up static electricity in my body and then discharging it in my z2300 controlbox as i touched the off button, the little blue led just went out like a... lightbulb:cool:


I didn't think computer equipment was that sensitive!!! I guess its not all bad, i don't have to turn off my system every night because of the blue light shinning off my ceiling:o




anyone else loose some equipment the same way i did?
 
I haven't lost anything here since always take esd precautions. Need something to see the dust stay off your lcd as well as tv screen? Ever see the little tissues that you throw into a clothes dryer to keep "static cling" from being seen when you go to take the clothes out after? zap! tingle! yike!

Those are intended to discharge static and make excellent wipes for cleaning any dust seen on monitors, tvs, or any other type of consumer electronics.
