Stealing my privacy over LAN

Me and my brother are conected in LAN via switch (AliedTelesys). We are connected so we both can go to internet using one modem (siemens C010). He is using Vista, and I'm on XP pro sp2.

Today he showed me that he can see my computer (something like Network neighbourhood), and yeah, there was his comp (named Trucky) and icon of my computer (named Bill). And he said that for some time he was able to acces both my hdds (C: and F:) and steal data!!! That made me sooo angry!
He is not that smart, but he always doing something to damage me. Yeah...we dont like eachother....
I cannot find his computer anywhere...

Was he able to do it? Steal my private data and/or information?

Heres more info:

Control Panel>Network connections>
here i can see "MSN" and "Local Area Connection"

i click Properties on "LAN":
SiS 900-based PCI Fast Ethernet
This connection uses following items:
Kaspersky Anti Virus NDIS filter
File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Network
QoS Packet Sheduler
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Control Panel>Windows Firewall>
It is ON
under Exceptions nothing strange...
File and Printer Sharing is unchecked!

How can I be sure?
I cannot sleep because of this!
If you need any more info just ask....

THANKS

Put a $ sign in front of your volume's name, it makes it invisible to network users. Also, unshare your folders, if they aren't shared he can't access them.

do you have any proof that he is really stealing ?
probably the "user simple file sharing is on".Disable that.
If you have nothing or won't share anything with him.
Remove the sharing protocol in the properties of your LAN and also disable this

hidden windows share. though not really needed

thanks for fast response

@tlarkin
how can i see if my folders are shared?
when i click porperties on any folder on "Sharing" tab it says:

-Network sharing and security-
As a security measure, windows has disabeled remote access to this computer...

@patrickv
Im not sure. He just told it to me.
Hes just told me that he has my Win XP pass and that he can enter my comp whenewer he wants :(
is there any way that he could do that?

How to disable user simple file sharing?
And how to disable items from that pic?

Thanks a lot people...

put a password on the Guest account
Click start-run-cmd
and type this command

net user guest myPassword

and it doesn't make a difference if the Guest account is turned off or on

yeeeeah.... I dont understand how is that going to help me... :(
i dont have guest acc.
can you explain it to me?
thanks

How to disable user simple file sharing?
Control Panel - Folder Options - View Tab - Uncheck Enable simple file sharing

and type these commands to change your password on the user and Admin accounts u have on your computer

net user Administrator myPassword
net user guest myPassword
net user YourUserName myPassword

the $ is worthless if your brother can login as a remote Admin

it happens, you just read it fast.

well change the password, disable network sharing, and hide the shares, turn off the guest account, but if his bro has physical access all those security measures can be tossed out the window.

you can stop him from seeing any of your files by going to network connections,

start > control panel > network connections, in here look at the top bar, where file and that is, look across to advanced. oncein advanced click advanced settings,

in here go through all of your connections ( you can just do your wireless and local area ) and then uncheck the box in the bottom window for " file and printer sharing "

i hope this helps :)

also send me a pm, and you can just hack him back :P
