So I've gotten some emails similar to the past, but this is the first one I've gotten like this about a specific CD key, and I don't completely understand them. (The previous emails were to discover all email addresses associated with this Steam account )

Steam said:
Dear Steam User,

This is an automated message generated by Steam account administration. It is being sent in response to a query made by a Steam user to discover all account names associated with this CD-key.

Steam account name: anderson010

You can use the above account name to log in to Steam. If you can't remember your password, click on the "Retrieve lost account" button on the Steam login screen.

What exactly does this email mean? Is someone trying to figure out what game(s) I have so they can attempt to hijack my account?

I would make sure you have the safeguard or whatever on that requires email activation to login on a new computer to be safe

Yeah I normally have it off because it's a bit of a pain but I just turned it back on :good:

Sounds like the product key for one of your games may have activated twice by two different users? (you and somebody else)

Did you get the game/key second hand?

And yeah make sure the safeguard is enabled.

If you're still not sure it might be worth seeing if Steam have some of help & support line you can contact them via.
