Steam AVG Issues

I am having another problem trying to play counter-strike source. Every time I join a server it gets to the welcome screen where you click ok and the game freezes and crashes. It gives the exact same error code every time saying hl2 application error 0x7dc49cb0 0xffffffff. I read on the steam website that AVG conflicts with it I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this and if they have any solutions

set your firewall to allow all when you play steam games. I've never had this issue but it should solve the problem.
