Steam or Valve Problem

Ok, well I just reformated and went to install HL2 and all that. So anyways after the install was done I went to launch css, only to find out that the launch box would come up, but the screen would never change and then the launch box would just go away. Thats all it does lol, I've reinstalled the game and still nothing. I have the newest drivers, and what not, but it doesn't want to work.

While we are on this topic. I bought Chronicals or Riddick and that doesn't work either. When I go to launch the game it gives me an error saying that I don't have opengl 1.3 or above, when I do. Do you guys no any sites where I can just download opengl 2.0? I can't find a site that will let me lol.

Any help would be great. If you need any more info just ask.

Excuse me? What the heck do you think this statement means? "Do you guys no any sites where I can just download opengl 2.0? I can't find a site that will let me lol." I've looked on google and other search engines. I guess I missed it. Forums are used to give help and advice to people that are in need. NOT to give some smart comment like that.

Now, back on topic. I installed that open gl and it still didn't work. Any more ideas?
 
What specifically does the error message say?? I have Riddick for Xbox and it is one of my all time favorite games so I wouldn't want you to miss out on that game. Does your card have the latest drivers?? It should work with your 7800GT.... not sure why it doesnt though. What are the system req's?
 
Well there really are two error messages.

The first one states that : This application requires graphic driver support for open gl 1.3 or higher

And the second one states: Program:... Studios\Riddick EFBB\Syster\Win32_x86_SSE2\SbzEngine.exe
(as you can tell that one is a run time error, by the box heading say "Microsoft Wisual C++ Runtime Libraray" I've never seen that heading beofre, so I though I would throw it in.

Blue- I just reformated and haven't done any tweaks yet, what ones do you have in mine. I've never had to tweak to get hl2 and css working though.

I never suggested you do any tweaks ;). I asked if you did. I where simply trying to think of reasons why you might have the prob. that you do.

Ok my latest cs 1.6 update is October 03, 2005

Is this the latest update thats release in cs 1.6? if not how do I keep up with the latest cs 1.6 update same with souce.
