Steam Problem, No Idea Whats wrong

hmm i dont knwo if this will help, but i'd try to log out of your account, then log back in. You can do this by opening steam, but before chosing games, theres another option at the bottom (i think its settings), and from one of the tabs you can log out. Sorry i cant give you exact information, but Im on a school computer.
I've had sever verifcation errors alot too, and this worked for me. As for your 200 ping, what are your rates? Type in console:
"cl_cmd rate"
"cl_updaterate"
in console, and let me know what those numbers are! That might be it!! Hope this helps, i'll be back to check on yo rates

Yup, happens to me sometimes. My stupid sister uses AIM all the time, and when she leaves it on, and I go to play a game like CSS, it says "could not connect to the steam network: verification failed:" or something like that, and when I turn off AIM, it works. Try diabling any non anti-virus crap that acesses the internet, like AIM, MSN Messenger, or anything like that.
