Steam problem

Help!
my steam is messed up
it just doesn't start up
no icons or wadever
not even a message saying cannot connect to server
when i double click on the application nth happens
steam does not even appear in my processes list
anyone can help mi?
 
The easiest thing with Steam is to unload it completely and reload everything all over again. Yes, it's time consuming but usually it works perfectly afterwards. Until the next update comes out.......
 
You can keep the cstrike folder, and just plop it back in there. No reason to re download it. You can also keep all the GCF files. Yes, the big ones. Copy them to desktop, then uninstall. Reinstall and drop them into the same place.
 
Forgot about about that....... I dunno.... Sometimes I like to just clean install everything because sometimes Steam problems are caused by updates from individual games.... (Damn new CS:S radar update.... messing up servers.....)
