Steam?

I just got steam , and it works fine when i am online but when i want to play hl2 offline i cant. If i click on the icon it says that steam is not connected , then it says do you want to start steam in offline mode when i press it , it then says error steam could connect to internet and i cant do anything.

that also happenes with all of the steam game , hl2, cs.c

You must be connected to the internet, and steam must be running to play those games...

No it doesn't.

In order to play in offline mode, you have to have your password saved on the computer (having the remember me box checked). ANd all steam files have to be up to date. If some arent fone updating, you wont be able to play the games.

You only have to have steam connected if your doing online multi, offline single doesnt require a connection to the steam networks, it requires the steam files, but they are all local.
