Steering wheel

I was not sure where to post this, so if it is in the wrong section mods could you please move it?

I'm looking for a steering wheel for GT4 and Need For Speed for the PC, so what is the best wheel out there? What I would love is it there was one with Clutch pedal and real working shifter, but I'm pretty sure that is not available

I havent seen them with clutch's, but i have seen them with gear sticks or paddles, and one of them even had a handbrake....

Im quite interested in this topic too, so if anyone has good suggestions, let us know

Very few actually have clutches and what not. If you do find one, you'd be lucky to find a game that actually supports it...

If I were you, I'd get a Logitech Formula GP or whatever it was called. Their basic steering wheel. When you say GT4 I guess you mean Grand Turismo? See, I have this steering wheen and I know it works on my PS2 and my computer(it's technically for the PC, but just happens to be identical to the PS2 version)

About 6 months ago, I bought a Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel (this one), and I was very pleased with it, but you have to be sure you want a strong Force Feedback motor, because that one certainly is. Of course you can reduce the effects in the control panel, but even with FF turned off you can still feel the motor when you turn the wheel.

I have never seen one with a full clutch and stick system I have to admit.

That seems like a pretty nice one, what is the cost of that?

if I can get it cheaper that would be nice Im going to start hunting. I wonder how the arcade games do it with a working clutch and shifter?
I've managed to find it for $79.99 on eBay, that guy looks perfectly credible, just make sure you read his terms of sale at the bottom. And I hope that link's alright.

Probably arcade games are able to do it because despite the high costs of setup (which would make such a setup unrealistic for a consumer market), they quickly get their money back when the game goes 'live'.

Does any one know if the pedals for that wheel have any kind of feedback? are they just On or Off, or do they apply the bracks & accelerator depending on how far down you press them?

The accelerator has no resistance whatsoever, but of course as with any good pedals they're graded depending on what persentage depressed it is. The brake pedal goes one further, the further you depress the pedal, the more force is required. It's nice, but bear in mind it's not as realistic as with a real car.

thanks.
