I have read stickys forum but I still have some questions. My pc freezes sometimes, and on the restart I have motherboard solid beep. Contacted ASUS, guy didnt even ask me what model I had, he looked at my power supply ... Its 500 watts but he checked out the amps, he said I needed to upgrade... my psu was def a problem. I have dual 12v so you can add the amps together I believe.

Is that def the problem?

any helps great
thanks

asus says I need this

3.3v 28 amps 5v 30 amps 12 volt 20 amps

Seems way to high for a motherboard

Those specs are actually quite low. Most people say 26A on the 12v rail is the min. As long as you have at least that much, power shouldn't be an issue.

Typically, long beeps are memory related. Have you tried reseating everything inside your case? You could also try removing everything and basically rebuilding the machine. Run with just a single stick of RAM, no drives, etc... Then just slowly build it back up checking to see if/when it begins to act up.
