Still undecided over video card!

Well, I thought I had everything figured out, but then I saw other cards and started to think again... This sapphire is the one I've been thinking for a few weeks:

It says out of stock, but every week that happens.

But now I see this card:

Has 70mhz more on the core clock and that badass 3 fan set up. And yes, my case can fit it, getting a full tower. Would that be worth the $20 difference? (With the rebate)

But how about a 2GB model?

Two fans, and 2GB instead of the 1GB.

I want to play current games at 1080p. What do you guys think? I am waiting for the bulldozer to come out, so who knows what price will change or new card comes out. Thanks guys.

im not sure if you will need the texture memory of the 2gb card for 1080, maybe if you were doing 1440, but 1080 im uncertain if its all that necessary

I can reach 1080p with my current card, (4670 AGP 1GB) but it lags more in 1080 compared to other resolutions. Not sure if this is because it's 1GB or because its an old card.

Probably lagging more because it's old. When I buy things I treat Mail-in rebates as "bonuses" if I actually get them, so I'd probably spring for the extra $5 and get the Gigabyte card; however if you treat that as actual pricing $25 is not worth the extra clock speed in the long run; you'll probably end up replacing that card at about the same time and the performance difference is only going to be a couple frames a second, if that. I agree that it's not worth the extra money on that 2GB Sapphire card.

So you're saying rebates are not always honored, even if I do everything right? If so, looks like I'm going for the gigabyte. Man, that thing is almost a foot long. I think I'll be happy with it. But who knows what will be out by the time the bulldozer is released.
