Stock or not... HSF for i7 920 (Thermaltake V1?)

After purchasing the parts for my new build, I began to ponder if I should also purchase a better heat sink. I am planning on overclocking, but I'm unsure by how much. 3.4-3.8GHz seems like a pretty reasonable range to shoot for...

Parts should arrive this week and I really don't care to hold off building or tear it apart to change coolers, so I'm looking into local options. Probably the best local option I've found is the Thermaltake V1. I'm hoping to find someone who specifically uses that cooler. I seem to find quite a number of mixed reviews...

I would definitely recommend an aftermarket cooler if you plan to overclock.

I wouldn't worry too much about building your pc and adding the cooler later.

It doesn't take long to replace the cooler.

It will take longer if the bracket for the socket does not fit the new cooler. If it doesn't, guess who's taking their motherboard out? ;)

Stock heatsinks are pretty crappy.

I had an incident with mine - when my PC tipped over and I thought I damaged one of the hodling clips. I was able to toy with it to get the thing back to my original temps- as before my computer got knocked over - but I was checking the temps with Coretemp - and when I was playing COD world at War - and watching TV on my second monitor - the temps were around 70 degrees.

I don't need to get a cooler yesterday anymore ( since I fixed the stock cooler ), but I will be upgrading this thing - even without an overclock. If you plan to OC - it's not even an option IMHO. You have to upgrade your cpu cooler.

Yeah, I forgot about that.

Doesn't cross my mind because I have a Coolermaster HAF 932 and it has an access hole, so I don't have to take mine out. :D
