I don't think this is possible but thought id make sure.
I have spare IDE HDDs roughly a total of 500GB worth of storage between them all is there a way to leave the storage IDE drive plugged in but put them in a sleep mode to power them down until I need them? To both save how long they will last + save energy?
Reason I ask is I am hoping to be lazy...most the time I leave them unplugged till I need them which isn't a issue but at times it can get annoying popping the side off and going through the reboot etc.
