Looking to back up at least 30GB of data, dont want to put it onto dvds so was looking to purchase an external hard drive. Looking for some advice..

can i buy an internal disk and put it into one of these caddie things, not sure how all this works or do i just buy an external drive

Looking at about 200GB for storage.

Any Advice really welcome.

yes a caddy is just a shell for the harddrive. a shell that allows you tyo remove the hdd in and out of the pc without taking the side off, this uses a cd tray in the case.

not sure how all this works
well basically when you buy a caddy drive it will have no hdd or anything its just the case that the hdd is put into and a slot that fits in the cd rom tray,

basically its like a removable hdd.

but the prob you might face is that you must have another computer with a caddy slot, a removable hdd aint bad, but the only way im going to put this is

its like a buket a 200gb bucket if you have a hole in it, its no longer a bucket.

did you understand that, but with a caddy drive you at least have a metal shell to protect it.

and the size doesnt matter, and there cheap.
