Strange beep from laptop hard drive

ok so i put a new WD caviar black into my vaio 2 weeks ago.
all was well but today im getting a weird beep from it.quite loud aswel.
the hard drive activity light on the laptop blinks at the same rate as the beep but the beeping comes and goes.
i know clicks are common but this is weird.it sounds like a beep from a barcode scanner in a shop.
anyone experience this before?

I think your hard drive is dying.

thats what i think myself.i ran wd diagnostics and chkdsk and everything is fine but obviously something is wrong.
its only a few wks old so its obviously just faulty
