Strange BIOS / No input signal problem, Help!

hi all, I have built a PC based on a few parts I had or have bought new off the internet...

I have a new or replaced Mobo, RAM, PSU, G-Card and the CPU is in working condition...

For some reason she just will not boot to BIOS. we reset the BIOS yesterday and it started fine all day, this morning, same again, all i see is "No Input Signal" on the monitor, and it doesn't seem to boot...

everything appears to power and like i said, nothing has changed since last night. the mobo does not have onboard graphics and have ruled out monitors/cables...

really frustrated and considering stripping it down, cutting my losses and selling it for bits...

Is the CPU power connector in good?

Take out everything you possibly can and see if you can get it to POST. Leave only the motherboard, power supply, CPU, and one stick of RAM. (and the GPU if it doesn't have onboard graphics)

If it still doesn't work, move the RAM stick into different slots. If that doesn't work, repeat the process with a different stick of RAM, if you have one.

Also, if you've been trying to use onboard graphics, try putting a discrete video card in it and see what happens.


If it starts working during this, start adding parts back in one by one until it stops working again, and you've found your bad part.


While working on it, look for any bulged or busted capacitors. That's a sure sign of a dead mobo.

the CPU fan is wirring so from that i can assume it is good... the 2 of the 4 RAM sticks are new so they should be fine (should is a big word there)...

removed the battery and shorted the CMOS to reset it this morning and it worked. 6 hours later, not working again... ahh... frustrating
 
tried another known good mobo and got the same problem...

somebody with little computing knowledge said "you sure the reset button isn't stuck?"

guess what, i played with the reset button and it worked!!!

would a sticky reset button cause those symptoms...
