Strange Computer Problem

Hello

Hopping this is in the right place and that someone out there could give some advice on where to go from here with my computer.

It’s a PC, Anthlon 2600plus , 1 gig RAM

Basically its a 2 year old desktop , runs about 24/7 mainly downloading...no problems till the other night

Was on it about 5pm - nothing wrong
10 pm went on and the screen had froze, so restarted and NOTHING.

This is where the strange part comes in, my computer sounds like its starting up properly but both the monitor and keyboard will not start up (both for a brief moment light up then stop) , we have tried with another monitor and keyboard with the same results.

My hubby is convinced its a software problems

Anyone and ideas?

Mobo maybe? Im not postive, hopefully someone more knowledgable will post.

First check that connectors are all in securly(monitor Power cable aswell !)

Then see if the computer BEEPS at the beginning from power on !

If you get no beep code, and everything seems to be spinning inside the case, then the main culprit is probably the processor!

A successful test results in a short, single beep. This means that the BIOS received no errors from the hardware initializing during the boot process.

If none of the above help you it will probabley be a software issue !!!
