Strange Emails that disappear ?

Guys I get about 30 emails a day that are junk , but just got a real strange one.
it said something about brad pit , so I delete it and all of a sudden I see a little [ sent horizontal bar move the green sections from left to right and then it disappears ]
so I go to my sent box and nothing there.
I go to my deleted box and nothing there ether .

I use outlook express and have windows XP

any ideas what that was ?

They could have requested a read response.. You can disable this in express... It is a message that is sent back to them saying he read the email... Could be good for spammmmmers

Don't you mean scan them for viruses? Wouldn't opening them be dangerous and the possiblity of infection more real?
