strange file on desktop

hello

recently i find that there are usually some strange files appearing on the desktop. Those files are not created by me, and their filenames are somehow unfamiliar.

they are usually of 0kb. , most of them ending with mov.!gr
i.e. xxxxxxxxxx.mov.!gr

Does anyone know what they 're and why they appear.

can i safely remove those files?

Could be malware? That's my first guess - especially with those filenames. You can probably just delete them but before you do that I'd advise to run a scan with a scanner. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is free and works well. Download and install it and see what it finds. I'm sure John will be along soon to help you out further.
 
Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and perform a FULL SCAN.

Let us know what is found so we can continue further.
