Strange Graphics Card Problem...

i blame ram. i mean ddr3 with no heatsink O_o somethings bound to go wrong.
if it is the ram i suggest getting something more reputable than kingston value ram.

That wouldn't cause any problems. I agree, Kingston value memory isn't the greatest, but not having a heat spreader wouldn't cause any problems at all, unless the chips were overheating, but then you wouldn't see random decreases in performance

hardware says "I'm fine"...

Well, I visited the reseller for the second day to continue my testing...they were supposed to test with a new mobo(since graphics card and PSU were found to be allright on the first day itself)...but there was this guy at that place who was testing my system even before I reached the reseller...he said "100% software problem"...i told him that i had reinstalled vista and even installed new drivers without any improvement...but he still insisted that it had to be a software problem...after fiddling with the comp a few more minutes, he updated the BIOS using ASUS UPDATE found on the mobo disk...and since then...I haven't yet seen the PC go back to that "bad graphics performance state"...just a BIOS update did the trick i guess...I'm happy but I wonder why this problem hadn't occured in the first 3 weeks after I assembled my PC...although then everything was the same as when the problem started occurring...
