Strange Issue with Wife's Laptop

Hello all... My wife has a del xpsm140 laptop which i reformatted last week with a fresh copy of vista before she started classes online with u of phoenix. All was great for a week and a half of class everythign was fine. Now when she clicks on any link to download anything it dies and restarts IE every single time. A little background.. I have done a chkdsk /r and also have reinstalled office it was causing problems.. office still is asking for a disk so i have totally uninstalled it.. same problems. She refuses to use firefox and u of p doesnt reccoment it. What else can i do short of another total reformat?

I did UOP for two quarters....then wished I could get my money back. Its a total joke

they took down, uopsucks.com, but it used to be full of articles and reports about what a terrible worthless degree the school will earn you, so bad so, that some employers will actually turn you down based on having a degree from there.

Just a heads up, do a little research, its not hard to find numerous complaints and issues with UOP.

*I know this doesnt answer your question, but I cant not tell people what a mistake they are making when I hear someone say they want to go there. Its bad news, I went through the Axia College which is the technology and information route.

Really my wife already has job offers and has to finish 3 more classes still strange... must be where we live or something because everyone around here said its just as good as a degree as the one she was going for at a full time university here in town.. n e ways the problem happens on any site at all i have tried downloading firefox i have tried downloading flash adobe anything it gets to where it should open the file after you verify and it crashes
