Strange Problem

I have a computer running Windows 2000. When I plug it into the port it won't connect to the network. I can bring a laptop and another desktop and plug it into the same port and they work fine, running Windows XP. I can also take the Windows 2000 machine and plug it into another port in a different location and it works fine. It's just that 1 machine at that 1 port that won't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

When you plug the machine into the port that doesn't work for that machine, does windows show the connection as enabled, or enabled with limited connectivity? Try running ipconfig /all from the command prompt when it's connected and see if it's getting any information from DHCP (assuming thats how your network is configured).

I hit ipconfig /all and the dos screen comes up for a split second. Not enough time to read what it says.

It says the cable is unplugged, but it's not.
