So I had Windows 7 installed on my brand new comp for about a day but found that nothing was really compatible with it. I went to boot up the next day and it was asking me to go to system recovery which would just sit at a screen for a long time and do nothing.
Since I wanted to get rid of Windows 7 anyway I decided to download XP Leopard Glass Edition which is just a modified version of XP. While I was downloading it I remembered I had a Ubuntu disc around and decided to install it. At boot I got a Grub 2 error.
Finally XP finished downloading and I tried to install it and got an "Unknown Hard Error" and something about ntdll.dll... so... I'm thinking all of this is probably linked somehow... do I have a bad hard drive? I used a brand new IDE cable. The cable was kind of bunched up against a wall and the frame of my casing I'm not sure if that could have ruined it or not though.
Suggestions?
Thx.
