Strange Problems with Display Port and HDMI Cables

Hello Friends

I recently built a new case and added the AMD Radeon RX 6700 10GB graphics card from my old system, which I thought was still sufficient for me. However, when I plugged the display port cable I had between the new case and the monitor, no image appeared on the screen even though I selected the display port output on the monitor. To solve the problem, I bought an HDMI v2.0 cable and connected it between the case and the monitor, and the screen did display. However, I have two problems...

1. Why is there no display on the screen when I plugged in the Display Port cable after the case upgrade, even though I'm using the same monitor and graphics card? Would using a different Display Port cable solve the problem? If so, which brand do you recommend?

2. When I plug in the HDMI cable, the maximum screen refresh rate is 60Hz. The maximum refresh rate is listed as 60Hz in the operating system's advanced display settings. Why am I not getting a 144Hz refresh rate option even though I'm using an HDMI v2.0 cable?

Thanks

Not saying it is but most monitor these days have an input selection before they can display. My Asus monitor won't display anything if its on the incorrect input. So if its set to hdmi and I used a display port then its not gonna show anything. Most of the older models will auto sense what input it should be in.

Make sure you are using the latest video card driver. Other than that, and not knowing more about your system then couldn't tell you whats going on.
