Strange sound coming from computer

Greetings!

I have an issue with my computer. I assume it has to do something with my graphic card. The problem appears whenever I play computer games that are a bit "heavy" in graphics or sometimes, when too many particles in game (explosions, bright light, etc.) are present. So what happens then is that my computer makes a horrible sound and repeats it every few seconds. An interesting thing happens then. My network connection is gone and files and maps do not open. I cannot reconnect unless I restart my computer. Similar thing happened even when I listened to music on youtube. Here are some specs of my computer:

Lenovo 3000 N200
Intel Pentium Dual CPU 1.86 GHz processor
2 GB RAM
32 bit OS
Graphic card: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family

The strange thing is that I used to play those games without any problems. Please help!

If you weren't having any problems playing them before then something has happened to your system. The specs you listed isn't for gaming. What operating system are you using? Have you done any general clean up lately?

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. I've scaned my computer for general issues (viruses, disk problems, etc.) but nothing was found broken or infected. I also ran Microsoft FixIt for various problems. It managed to repair some of them (WMP and virtual disk didn't work) yet the above listed (previous post) are still present. For some unknown reason Microsoft FixIt doesn't work anymore.

It's true. I'm low on free space. Though I don't understand how 2 GB wouldn't be enough :/

I was also thinking about overheating but I don't know how to check for temperatures. Any good suggestions?

You can try doing a system restore back to when it was working fine. Also try updating your video driver.

John and I often differ on this subject, but whenever my computer starts anything like this, i waste the install and put a fresh version of Window on there.

Thanks for help! Sadly my system restore doesn't work. It has no previous restore points. I guess I'm going to have to put on a fresh version of Windows...

I'm playing Battlefield 2, Rune Halls Of Valhala, Mount and Blade Warband. Yes, the games are a bit old :D but that's the best my comp can do...

A fresh install is a good idea as long as you're able to backup all your important files easily. You can burn an ISO of Windows on a disc and then use the code on your computer to activate it again. Assuming you don't have your restore discs anymore.
