Stream Processing Units

Thx Zatharus, for the info, ive always wandered why the ati cards have more stream processors than nvidia, and how they worked in such.:)

Taking this one a little too far? Yes...
His was a question that deserved answering not nitpicking.

I don't agree. He should have been more specific. I wasn't nit picking.

It was obvious from the previous posts in the thread that there was an
advantage. If the person was looking for more detailed information, they
should have asked for it specifically.

Wow, your balls haven't dropped yet? Grow up.

I'm 37 years old. Please take your own advice.

Ya thanks for all the info!

You're welcome folks. :)

I disagree that the the posts up to that point proved a definitive advantage of MIMD or SIMD. They were simply discussing how one card performed better than another. The SPU/Cores of the two different architectures are only one part of the entire 3D rendering pipeline. There are other aspects of the chip designs that also have differing advantages. The entire chip design is different between the two, not just the shader processors. The person in this case did ask specifically for more detailed information.

Please stop the ad hominem argument. It serves no one.

You're right. I should have "let it go" after I pointed out the fact that
Intel Man had not asked for specific information, and in reply, he asked
for more.

Apologies.

LOL WUT?

My original post was asking about advantages between the two. Which if you have thought about it, I did ask a complete question.

A venn diagram I mentioned is a way of expressing the advantages between the two.
