Streaming from computer to tv?

For 2 years I have been streaming movies from my computer to my tv via my xbox 360. Lately on select movies the screen will go black and it will stop playing 20-30 min. in. Its becoming annoying to use the xbox 360

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? I have wondered if a recent WMP update has done something but cant figure it out.

How else could I stream my movies from my computer to my tv? I have a PS4, xbox 360, and Xbox one, and wireless network.

The PS3 can also connect to WMP and stream content from it. Otherwise, I think you could get chromecast to do that. It's pretty cheap.

TV is about 50 feet from the computer.

The main annoyance is that I have been using the xbox 360 to do this for almost 2 years and lately certain shows and movies have gone to black screen after they start. The movie last night was good until the 45 min point at which point it stopped playing and went black??? The file plays fine on the computer though. ? ??
