Streaming radio

I am streaming radio over the internet and it keeps on loosing connection (keeps on buffering) which makes the music stop for a few seconds which is very annoying. My internet is fine (should be going at about 8 meg/s) but I am streaming the radio around the world (from germany to australia). Is there any ways to fix this or is it just the simple distance that is preventing good buffering?

it could be loads of things

if streaming wirelesss it may cause interuptions

if you have many browser sessions open might affect it

refreshing other pages may cause it

if your doing other RAM intensive jobs at the same time

or it could be a problem with the stations hardware

The only thing that is possible from that list is poor hardware on the station (was running it on a wired internet connection with nothing ells open on my comp.)

Yea it's the same deal when I connect my laptop to it through the very high speed university network which gives me an 8 mb/s download and an 10 mb/s upload speed.
