Stuck Pixel?

I just recently bought a Samsung 226bw (S Panel) and I'm loving it. I've only had it for a few days and, for those days, there were no flaws.

However, last night I noticed what appears to be a stuck or dead pixel. What I'm trying to figure out is which one it is.

Here are the symptoms:

Red Screen: Doesn't appear
Green Screen: Appears Black
Blue Screen: Doesn't appear
White Screen: Appears Red
Black Screen: Sort of appears, whitish green
Yellow Screen: Appears red

I've run JScreenFix and UDPixel, but it hasn't done anything quite yet. I'm about to head to work and I'm going to leave it running for an hour or so. I've also tried the massage method without much success.

So, is it stuck or dead? And, either way, is there a way for me to get this things fixed? Thanks guys! (sorry if this subject has been beat to death)

dead pixels dont generally respond to anything, which makes me lean more towards a stuck pixel, i had one, what i did to fix it was simply push it, fairly hard, dont be a pansy about it, give it a short sharp push with your thumb whilst it's on, see if ti disappears then

fixed my one anyway

If it's a stuck pixel, then you should be able to fix it by applying a little pressure on the pixel, works all the time for me.

That simply doesn't seem to do anything for it.

I can't imagine it being a dead pixel simply because of how it's reacting. The colors are literally blending meaning some of the sub-pixels are lighting . . . But, just that one is stuck.

This makes no sense to me.

I have that exact screen. Its great once u use magiccolour and natural-colour (otherwise it looks bland)
bring it back until there arent any stuck or dead pixels, best buy or watever will do that.

just make sure to tap the lcd panel to surface any stuck pixels

It's a stuck pixel - dead pixels are permanently black. There are some suggestions here, most of which it seems like you've tried. They will sometimes go away with time, but if you can return the monitor you may want to do so. Stuck pixels are often not covered under warranty, however.

I bought it from Newegg, won't be sending it back anytime soon . . . their LCD return policy blows.

Thanks for the helps guys, I'm going to hound this thing to get it out!

Dead pixels don't have to be permanently black, they can be stuck on the three primary colours or white or off all the time. Basically a dead pixel is a non responding pixel which means it will not change colour.

This may be a little bit off topic, but thanks very much for that information. I had about 6 pixels which I thought werent working in the screen of my mobile phone. But after reading this thread I gave them all a little pressure, and they all went away,

Thanks very much:D
