Hey guys me again,
But this time im not asking about a computer for myself infact for my sister rather.
She is going into her first year of university andwould be living in the city 300k's away from home so wouldnt have access to a desktop computer in her room.
So she is a bit strapped for cash and wanted to spend less then US$900 (AU$1200) and also wanted to know what requirments she would need for a student laptop.
She said she needed it for word prossesing, iTunes, watching movies (DVD player) and sometimes internet.
As for portability weight isnt an issuse as she much prefers her money over that.
She also said about three hours of battery so she can use it in class.
if theres anything else you would like to know about the requirment just post them and ill ask
Thanks in advance
Dylan

I would check out the Dell or HP outlet store, or their student section on-line. You should be able to find at least that through their on-line options...

what's her major gonna be, if it's design or something you might need a dedicated video card, I have trouble running my 3D CAD on my integrated in my laptop. I've got a toshiba, they're not too bad pricewise and they are a good overall company, so maybe look at them too

Thanks for the suggestions guys but I think I forgot to metion we're both Australian so would it be easy to get either of those delivered to Australia?
Would that cost extra? And if so how much aprox? Sorry for all the questions

If you're in Australia, I'd check out the Acers and Asus. Asus has a new line of budget notebooks- check out the A3 and A6 series. Both with large HD's and builtin webcams. You'll get good battery life with those. As for Acer, dependable as always, but battery life isn't so good with the lower models.
