Now I was planning to buy a desktop computer with a stereo, but I was thinking about getting a studio monitor instead? A studio monitor is basically stereos for studios, however I was wondering if anyone here knew I can hook them up to my computer? Also if I used them for my computer, would I be able to use those instead of pc stereos? Would it be better? Would it have more effect, and be more in depth? If anyone knows about these type of stuffs please help.

Thank you

Oh yeah btw, There not those regular speakers, there actually the bigger ones, for studios. I am just wondering if it is better then regular stereos like logitech for gaming/music.

Thanks

To hook those up you would need some kind of an amplifier, like a stereo reciever. They would hook up to the amp, and then you would run a cable from the output of your sound card to a Aux jack on the back of the amp/stereo. Thats the way I do it, and it sounds great! I have my system hooked up to a set of Infinity studio speakers and a Onkyo stereo reciever.

And if you want to set up a 7.1 system, you can still hook it up to a home stereo, and get much cleaner sound than you can from hooking up a set of speakers to your computer.

I was thinking about using an audio interface instead of the preamp. Would that work?

Are studio monitors (stereos) better then regular home stereos like logitech, in gaming/music/etc....?

Thank you
