Stupid Beeping Sound!!!

My PC was working fine a few days ago but when I turned it on this morning all I get is a beeping sound which appears to be coming from the bottom left hand side of the motherboard (near the PCI Slots). It stops after about 5-6 seconds, and after this I get nothing. Nothing is being displayed on the monitor, its just on standby. Any Ideas???

Hi,
I had that problem, it turns out that I must have knocked the base unit and the graphics card had slightly come out. Pushed it back into it's slot, started the machine, and it worked.

This might not be your problem, but worth checking it out.

if you refer to your motherboards manual it will (normally) list all of the error beep codes, refer to this to diagnose your problem. if you cant find the problem reseat your graphics and ram as these are two of the usual suspects with beep errors

What does the beeping sound like long or short? how many?
