stupid dell monitor question..

Hey, new to the forum and going to ask a dumb question right off...sorry. I tried searching the forum and other web sites and didn't get a clear answer so here goes....

I switched from the original crt monitor on my Dell dimension to a Dell flat panel 1708fpt and now it wont display the whole web page of any site. You have to scroll over and up and down to se it. I downloaded the drivers for the new monitor from the Dell site ,extracted and saved them, but when I go to "add new hard ware " to update the drivers I don't see an option for the monitor. I'm running XP Pro and also just did a new install of the OS. Help!
 
What model of dimension do you have? All you needed to do was change the screen resolution. Now that you have done a reinstall of the OS did you install the video driver? Look in device manager for any entries with a yellow mark next to it.

right click the desktop, hit properties, and should come up with display properties to the machine, go to the far right tab, select the screen resolution, and drag it to the right
