Stupid FSB!

I have a Compaq Presario SR1010Z, with an Athlon64 3400. According to CPUz, the FSB is running at 200MHz. I don't know exactly what it should be running at, but I know it is in the vicinity of 1600MHz. How can I change this?

Get a newer version of CPUz. If you look there's no entry for FSB.
1. It's a HTT
2. The HT speed is probably 1600 but it isnt shown by CPUz. You can check in BIOS if you really need to

A lot of people confuse their FSB speed with their bus speed and visa versa. You might be doing the same

True. In this case, the Athlon64s dont technically have a "FSB" and even if you interpret HTT as FSB, 200MHz is correct :)

As you know I am not an AMD guru.. can you explain HTT to me? I know what FSB means in reguard to an intel motherboard... so is HTT just AMD's version of FSB? (There was probably a better way to phrase that....)

Anyway... that was the point of my previous post. On the computer I am typing this post on, it has a FSB of 200MHz and a Bus Speed of 800MHz... even though every major company (I know you hate Dell :rolleyes: ) markets the computer as (3.0GHz, 800 FSB, 1MB)

HTT = HyperTransport Tunnel
The most significant difference that is introduced by Hypertransports is that they are full duplex as opposed to the halfduplex operation of FSBs :) You can read craploads of info here http://www.hypertransport.org/

LOL so true
