not to mention the speed booting
and the boost he as opening files..

I'm sure you're speaking from experience, having installed and used both...

My HTPC in my living room has 2Gigs of RAM, Athlon X2, using onboard GeForce 6100 graphics.

I had Vista on it first, and now Windows 7. Vista runs much better with Aero fully enabled. Same settings with Win 7, everything is laggy, including mouse clicks and screen transitions.
