Stupid Questions

This may be a stupid question, but if I get another stick of RAM, same one as I have, will I be able to run it in dual-channel mode? Or should I just buy a 8 GB dual channel kit and put it in another channel? I dont think I need 12 gigs.

RAM is in sig

Yeah you have your RAM listed wrong in your sig. If you have 4GB then you have 1x4GB. 4x1GB means you have 4-1GB Sticks, but you don't.

That is correct (assuming they're in the correct slots, otherwise it will show up as single mode until you move one of them).

There's nothing really that special about a "dual channel kit" other than the sticks are usually pretty close to each other off of the assembly line. Channelization is a function of the memory controller rather than the DIMM itself.
