Woot woot

Ive done it i have finally OCed my computer :p

Im extatic Yipee

Anyways i got some questions:

1. Im using the software that came with the mobo ie. T-utility OC software.
I OCed to 2.4Ghz. My Bus speed is now 300mhz. But my FSB has increased from 1066 to 1200, is this normal?

2. My ram from being 266mhz it is now 300 mhz. Is this normal?

3. How will i know if my PCI has not increased. It looks like its the same, through the software but how can i check, cause the memory looked the same, but CPU-Id says it changed.

4. My temps have not gone up, i guess thats good. How will i know when ive reached my threshold, as im doing it through windows and not the BIOS.

Im gonna try it through the bios (as i can lock the PCI to 100)
thanks guys

Yesterday i tried changing the temps where the CPU fan starts etc from the BIOS...

All the Bios does is give me problems.

Now when i boot my PC it says "NTLDR is missing, Press ctr + alt + del to restart"

what must i do

go back to your bios.

change the boot priority to harddrive first.

if you have more than 1 harddrive, then you need to select the harddrive with windows on it to be the first boot device.

im using BIOSTAR sofware and it tels me the temps are 25. Same as always

Im still going on, right now im on 2.4Ghz but i wanna try get my fsb to 1333 or a 2.66 would be nice

so yea....

At stock

2.13Ghz.
My multiplier is locked at x8
My Bus speed was 266
my FSB was 1066
My ram was 266 (x2 for DDR2 so 533mhz)

Now

2.4Ghz.
My multiplier is locked at x8
My Bus speed was 300
my FSB was 1200
My ram was 300 (x2 for DDR2 so 600mhz)

and itll go up some more....

yipee

Well done ^^
What were you doing with the boot setup? Overclocking is done in a totally different part of the Bios? Ah well, doesn't matter. It works now.

yeah thats the thing

few days ago, STRAIGHT AFTER I TRIED TO OC, my comp would not boot.

turns out my HD were corrupt and formatted and the boot sequence changed

Then yesterday i tried it and my boot sequence changed

I dont know. its funny

so yeah i got it to 2.6Ghz
FSB of 1303
Bus speed of 325
ram 325 (x2 DDR2)
PCI fixed to 100

so yeah.

CoD4 has an increase of 6 to 15 FPS

thats good.

But my comp has a CPU lag that it hasnt had before. Maybe that will change, like delays in game etc

i reckon a bad overclock caused it.
the bios will auto revert to default settings if your oc fails.

thus, your boot order reverts back to
1 removable device
2 cd drive
3 harddrive
4 floppy
5 other

yeah but corrupt?

Anyways, i have stuck to 2.6Ghz.

I tried going more and it reset, so it prolly hit the ceiling.

ill try again (but i dont want to increase voltage, as temps increase, and yeah.)

My temps are at 25* still, but when i take the fan with the tube (included with case, pointing at my CPU) off, my temps go to 30, 32.

So that fan help by 5 degrees

Also in games i have been experiencing a lot of PC lag
(like getting stuck, processor running so slowing the comp down etc). Could this be that ive OCed too much for it to be stable under load (i havent changed voltage)? Should i drop it to 2.5Ghz and see?

what could it be

but a 6 frame increase in games  thats good

now all i need is a 9800GX2 or GTX to play cod4 on max settings

I found my Ceiling (without having to raise voltage, i dont wanna kill my CPU)

its at 330mhz x 8 = 2.64Ghz

Im running at 2.6Ghz, is that bad or too close to ceiling, (maybe thats why i had the lag)

Should i drop to 2.55 or 2.5Ghz?
