I'm hoping to find out if anyone is truly running 8GB of any type of DDR3 on this board.. and if so, what is the native spec of the mhz on the ram and what speed works for you.. and if you can.. what bios settings are you using that works..

-------------
Notes on my situation:

In my case its ddr3 1600mhz OCZ ocz3g16004gk (spec 8-8-8-26 1.8v) with 3.0ghz q9650 (with hopes to overclock to 3.61 or higher and up the fsb from 1333 to 1600mhz at least).

I fail linpack 2 out of 20 times, even when set at 1066mhz.. Never could reliably boot for long at 1600mhz on ram.
See this thread for this topic and my current ram settings in the bios (1303, i have tried the beta bios with no more luck)

Here are some benchmark values too.. if anyone has these figures for their 8GB, this would be useful:

at 1066 7-7-7-20:
Everest 7450 MB/sec read
Passmark Mem: 1090

at 1333 8-8-8-26
Everest 8200 MB/sec read
Passmark Mem: 900 (not sure why this was lower)

at 1600 8-8-8-26 (i briefly was able to boot)
Everest 9200 MB/sec read
Passmark: NA

**Not sure if its worth the fuss to go higher than say 1333 based on these benches?

Thanks for the info..

Try with 2GB or 4GB in dual channel.

Well, even if it succeeds with 4GB, this doesnt help me.. as i dished out the cash for 8GB and 1600mhz no less too.. its a bit frustrating..

I had run some tests with only 4GB at 1600mhz rate, i had no more luck there than with lower speeds and 8GB.
