Sudden Hard Drive Format Problems

I was formatting my 320GB SATA Drive under windows Vista 64 when I had a power cut half way though the format. As this is a 2nd drive the PC booted up fine but when I try and format this drive I get the error that windows cannot complete the format either via a full format or via a quick format. The drive is being recognised by windows but I cannot access anything on it or format it. What can I do?

Try using GParted Live CD to format it.

Delete the partition and re-create one then try to format it again

Is that drive your system drive? Why don't you plug that in as a slave and then try formatting it.
