hello,

our network was divided into 2: network domain and workgroup computers. at some point in time, one client in workgroup loses its connection to a file server in the domain. this problem occurs every now and then. it loses the network connection but will gain it back after few minutes. an error will appear saying like "\\pc2 is not accessible...."

i've repaired the OS to restore its original drivers. do u know why is this so with computers in workgroup? please help. how can i fix and have a steady and smooth connection to the file server in the domain.

thanks.

What type of connection do the workgroup computers have to the server?
Are they connected by Wires or by Wireless?

Not that it helps an awful lot, but i get the "\\computer_name_here's is not accessible blah blha, contact your network administrator" error occasionaly when trying to access pc's on the main network from my private subnet going through a switch and a gateway... I ahvent yet found a reason for it, it seems to be fairly random
