Suggestions For New Desktop

Hey, recently my old computer crashed on me and I've decided to get a new one. My parents would feel more comfortable if i bought one rather than building one myself. I usually use it for games (WoW, UT2004, BF2, CS, etc..) , video / some audio editing and the occasional homework.

In my old computer i have a brand new ATI Radeon 9800se, and 1GB RAM that i could pop out of there and hopefully install into my new one. Im looking for a desktop thats around $500 - $1000 (without monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc..). Suggestions??

the graphics card is agp right?

I think you should build your own.

If it is out of the question however, maybe you can try ABSPC.com. I would never buy a desktop, but if I had to, it would likely be from them or Dell, because they offer competitive pricing.

Also, if you were to likely buy a new PC, it would be PCI-Express based graphics support on the motherboard, meaning you wouldn't be able to use the AGP card. And I do not recommend buying an AGP type board on a new rig.

Let me know if you dare to build your own, you could get a SWEET SLI setup for under 1000 dollars. You can barely get a decent E-machines at bestbuy for that price. Keep that in mind! Email me if you want suggestions.

hmm...well i could try talking my parents into it...ill read up on the Building Computers 101 topic. The 9800se is an AGP, sorry. If they still dont feel comfortable, any specific model suggestion?
