Suggestions on which laptop to Buy

Hi guys and gals hope someone can help. Basically I am gun shy on buying a computer because I'm trying to buy only what I need in order to keep the price low. Ideally I'm trying to get something for under 1000, but the cheaper the better. I been mainly looking at hp and I will be using this laptop for school related stuff. I need it only for surfing the net (tend to only have 3 pages at the most up at a time), running and storing all my itunes songs (I have 15gb worth of songs), I'm not a big multi-tasker (only run about 2 or 3 programs at the most at one time and not very often), store a lot of picture (not videos but just picture from my kodak digital camera about 200-500 pics), and I am not a gamer at all (I never play any games). So if someone can suggest something that would be great. Thanks in advance

but to answer your question, if you're only planning to use it to listen to music and surf the internet and to type things, than anything out today is suitable for your needs.
 
As he said, anything should be fine. Any laptop will come with a built-in wireless card for internet access. All the hard drives should be at least 60GB in size, more than you need, and definitely enough processing and RAM power to meet your requirements. Happy hunting!

An HP V6000Z or Toshiba Satellite series, they'll be a little more expensive, but definitely worth the money...
